Everyone has something that they fear. It could be bugs, snakes, heights, bees, etc. In most cases, the fears of these things are actually far worse then if we face them. I use to be terrified of bees. I would run like a wimp if I saw one near me. It would basically give me anxiety till it flew away. Eventually, I got stung by one when I least expected it. I was at the beach of all places. I was lying on the boardwalk with my friend, and it stung me on the back of my calf. It didn’t even hurt that bad. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to get stung again, but the fear of getting stung by a bee was worse than the actually bee sting. When it comes to accomplishing your goals you are going to have to face many fears. The biggest fear you will face is the fear of failure. You have to believe in yourself in order to overcome it. People will try to knock you down. The truth is, most people don’t want to see you succeed. Unfortunately that is the truth. But on the flipside, God will give you everything that you need to reach your destiny. He will bring the right people into your life, and he will also take the wrong people out of your life. It is important to do some soul searching to make sure that what you are going after is actually what you really want out of life. If it is not, you will have a very hard time overcoming your fears. The only thing that will get you through your fear of failure is the fact that you know what you are going after is your destiny, and nothing and no one can stop you. You have to have drive, and it has to come from within. It has to be your dreams, not something influenced by someone else. Know your self-worth. You can’t base your worth off of the people that you are around, or the possessions that you buy. All that stuff is temporary. God has given you a purpose in life. Your duty while you are on this earth is to accomplish that purpose. It’s okay if you feel you have missed opportunities. You will be given many more opportunities to reach your goal. You might not have taken the easiest path to get to there, but that’s okay. It’s like if you get lost on your way to a location. If you take a wrong turn, do you don’t just pull over and sit on the side of the road and give up? No, you take the next road necessary for you to get back on track to where you have to go. Never stop believing in yourself. Use the passion that you have for your dreams to help you overcome any fear you might face. Always remember if someone else can do it, so can you. Get advice from someone who has done it before. Surround yourself with like-minded people. Get involved in your craft. You can never over educate yourself. Stay humbled. Don’t ever think that you are too good to learn and make yourself better. Face your fears, and you will come face to face with your dreams. :)

I think over the past year I have learned to overcome my biggest fear of being social. I was always afraid of sites like twitter, myspace, etc. becaause I didn't want to commumicate with other people, but I thought hey why not, let's join sites like these and see what comes out of it and I think what has come out of it is that I have improved as a person, I am getting more comfortable with other people and improving with my communication. I learned to drop my fear of communication.
ReplyDeleteOuch on the calf! I’ve only stepped on bees- had to get out the frozen peas! Hahaha
ReplyDeleteWow! Thats so inspirational... Hilary Clinton is going to have tough competition next Election!! hehe
My fear, I couldn't actually pinpoint myself, luckily I saw the doctor 2 weeks ago, because It kept getting worse and worse and it only will continue to. My fear is called Agoraphobia which is the fear of having a panic attack (aka Anxiety disorder), its actually a side effect to having previous Panic attacks (chemical imbalancement in the brain) & they are uncontrollable :S but its the fear of having one that’s really putting a stop to my everyday life. because It makes yourself have a panic attack. and it’s side effects are depression & Anxiety (so It’s Chicken or the Egg) really hating it at the moment!! :(( There is no way I can beat it entirely so I have to keep tackling each day as it comes. The anxiety & Depression won’t go away and till I convince myself that I can overcome it . (Also like the previous blog when Thomas the Tank engine says ”I Think I Can”--- I Know I can!)
So with any other fear anyone has, always remember you are in control, don’t let it control you. Take baby steps because it may take a lot of time :)

I agree the biggest fear is the fear of failure... I am affraid of heights and I kinda overcome it but the fear of failure is often there sometimes you don't pay attention to it and than it is not doing anything bad at all but it will come back often in life which means a person has to overcome it again and again.... but with a strong mind people are able to overcome it each time..... if you do dream and believe the impossible can become possible so yes I absolutely agree with:
"The only thing that will get you through your fear of failure is the fact that you know what you are going after is your destiny, and nothing and no one can stop you."

I'm afraid of spiders. Everytime I see a spider,I have to cry -.- . That's annoying.I can't do anything against it. And I'm not quite sure if I can overcome this fear at some time. :-/
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I'm just too scared of spiders to think I could overcome it.
Everyone has fears and it's important to try to overcome all of them. That makes you a better person,I think. :)
If you really wanna change something, you have to face your fears and try to be the stronger one, overcome your fears.
