Hey.
Just needed someone to talk to you and you always know the right thing to say.
I have been feeling down. I feel like everyone around me has achieved so much and that everyone is so successful and happy and I am one big failure.
Is it okay to feel like that sometimes?

Here was my reply to the email:
That is a natural feeling when we see other people around us achieving more than we are. I deal with that feeling by being happy with my purpose in life. It keeps me going every day. What other people are achieving isn't what I want to achieve in life. Therefore, I can be happy and supportive for the people around me who are achieving their goals. Most people are not where they want to be in life, myself included. I still have a lot more to accomplish before I will feel successful. It is important to be supportive and happy for other people who are achieving more than we are. You should never be bitter or sad about it, because you will have your day too. You will overcome the obstacles that you are facing now. You just have to believe in yourself, and remember that life works on God's timing, not our own. Find happiness within your current situation. Don't be so hard on yourself. Spend some time soul searching to figure out what you really want to achieve. Be honest and realistic with yourself. Set short term and long term goals. That way you will feel some accomplishment when you accomplish your reasonable, short term goals. The long term goals will keep you pushing forward. Make a list of goals, and a dream board. Use that as a blueprint for your life. Most importantly think back to the things that you have already accomplished. Things that you were scared of, but you overcame it. If you made it through those things, you can use that same courage to get through the new challenges that you are facing.
Love, Live, Give, More.
Love Always,
Sheri xoxo
OMG, this perfectly describes me! But I certainly never feel bad when others are accomplishing more than me. I feel happy for them and at the same time I have to focus on myself, what I wanna get done.
ReplyDeleteYEAH i can defenitely say that i felt that way before too!! i think this is a normal feeling. sometimes i'm thinking...gosh i just turned 17 and what did i achieve to be reeeally proud of? like considering my goals and dreams in life. but then i think of the little amazing steps i've achieved to COME CLOSER to my goals and dreams in life. :) and then i'm proud!
ReplyDeletexoxox LLGM,
thank you Sheri for the amazing blog <3
AH I've been feeling that way these past 2 years in university. I know I made the choice to decide to go through education first and put my dance career on hold. But as my friends constantly book movies, gigs, commercials, shows I can't helpt but feel underacheived because that's exactly what I want in my heart. I wonder whether going to university was the right decision and I sometimes lose focus and start researching for auditions, agents etc. I must say I didn't handle it very went in first year but second year I proved myself to focus and get good grades, it'll all pass my quickly in time. I'm in the Commerce program which is probably one of the most competitive degrees to get which is why trying to balance dance is next to impossible to do at the same time. And then my bestfriend who tries to BALANCE both school and pursuing acting is always on the road going to auditions etc. And that gets me burning and the fire sparks again. But then I see how her grades have fallen and I realize the decision I made was the right one.
ReplyDeleteto be honest i think everyone feels like that at least from time to time some can hide it better than others tho and some also don't show ppl that side of their personality.
ReplyDeletei think it's nothing you have to be ashamed of you just have to find something you are good in and there is at least 1 thing that you can do well where you don't fail and i am almost sure that there are more things than just 1.
Never loose faith & confidence.
