Individuality..

We all have days when we feel like we look terrible. Our clothes don’t fit right or we are having a bad hair day. Even a dreaded monster pimple is sure to make it so you dont want to leave the house. It’s normal, it happens to the best of us. But to feel bad about yourself on day-to-day basis is not how you should feel. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful. Say it over and over again until you believe yourself. Say it until you have the biggest smile on your face. I guarantee that you will feel better about yourself. The world that we live in nowadays allows very little room for “imperfections”. There is a lot of pressure to “fit it”. Forget all that BS, It’s irrelevant. If you feel good about yourself then it doesn’t matter what anyone else on this planet thinks about you, or appearance. Live a healthy lifestyle, and hold yourself at the highest regard. I can’t express enough about the importance of LOVING YOURSELF. The first thing we should be thought as a child is to LOVE ourselves. When you LOVE yourself you have the confidence it takes to face the world. When you don’t LOVE yourself you will tend to shelter yourself, and hide behind your insecurities. Don’t loose yourself or individuality trying to “fit in”. I have personally never “fit in”. Seriously, I just never cared enough about what other people where doing. I’m a very simple, east coast girl. I intend on staying the way I am. Trying to be anything else would come off as phony. If you don’t like doing something that your friends are doing, don’t do it. It’s that simple.

The reason I love Lady Gaga is because she thinks outside the box. She is so crazy, in a good way. Her creativity is on a whole other level. That is what makes her so unique. She didn’t come out of a cookie cutter. Now she is a brand because she didn’t try to “fit in”. No matter what is cool, or in style at the moment never loose your individuality. If you want to be over the top, be over the top. If you want to be simple, be simple. No matter what you choose to be, just remember to be you.

GIVE, More. <3

Thanksgiving just past and the next thing that is on everyone’s mind is Christmas/ Hanukkah. Tis the season for giving. I’ve already been emptying out my change to the Goodwill bell ringers. I always donate at the registers of grocery stores because they are usually raising money for some sort of good cause. There are more ways to GIVE than just money. Since money is so tight for a lot of people it’s understandable if you don’t have the means to donate money. There are many ways to GIVE. Starting with your closet. Clean it out! Half the stuff in there you don’t wear, and probably haven’t worn in a good year or so. Asking yourself if you would wear it again is the first sign that you wont. Put it all in a bag and donate it, because I guarantee they will find someone who will wear it. Now, look in your food cabinets. See those cans of food that have been sitting there collecting dust? Go give them to a canned food drive. There is someone out there that would love to eat it. GIVE back to the earth. Plant a tree. If you don’t want to plant a tree you can help the environment by picking up litter. If your “to cool” to pick up litter you can help by conserving water and electricity. GIVE your time by volunteering at an after school program or even an animal shelter. GIVE back to your friends and family. The smallest gestures go a long way. Offer a friend a ride, buy them some ice cream or take them to a movie. The smallest gestures of appreciation leave the biggest impact on people. If you can’t do any of that you can at least GIVE someone a complement. You can make someone’s day with a simple complement, especially someone who would least expect it. That’s all. I just wanted to encourage everyone to GIVE in some way. Giving a little goes a long way. J Love, Live, GIVE, More. <3

Do you know your dream?...

Career wise; what would you do for a living even if you didn’t get paid to do it? You’ve heard this phrase many times before. As corny as it may sound it’s a very important question to ask yourself. I ask people this question all the time, and surprisingly to me, a lot of people don’t have an answer. Some people just have a hard time seeing what they want to do for a career. Most of the time they can’t see it because it’s clouded with doubt. To ask the same question again in a different form may allow people to see past the doubt. What is your dream job? Take away all self-doubt and answer this question honestly. I truly believe that your answer to this question is your destiny. I believe God places dreams in our heart because he knows that we are capable of accomplishing that dream. It’s ok if someone else thinks that your crazy for having that dream or even if they think you wont be able to accomplish it. That is to be expected because it’s your dream not theirs. No one will ever see your vision as you do. You have to be the one who figures out how to get to your dreams and go for it. Some people may have better circumstances than you, but that doesn’t mean you wont accomplish your goals. It just means your gonna have to work a little bit harder. I don’t believe in LUCK. I BELIEVE in FAITH and HARD WORK. It’s so easy to say, “ oh, she is so lucky she got that job” No, she got that job because she worked hard. As women it is very important that we Know Your Worth, because in some cases there are women who take the easy way out in this predominantly male driven business world. When you know your worth and respect yourself that is how you will be treated. Any position that you work hard to earn will no doubt last longer. It will also be much more rewarding in the end. You can do anything you put your mind to. Two of my favorite sayings are “Where there’s a will there’s a way” and from Field of Dreams “ If you build it they will come”. If you have the will to do something I believe you can make a way even if there seems to be no way. Almost everything at one point seemed impossible until someone made it possible. If you build it they will come sounds so cheesy, but so true. I’m not saying your gonna go out and build a baseball field. What I mean is whatever steps you are taking to build your dream, just know that the success will come. Never give up! Always remember to Love, Live, Give, More. <3
